THUNDER BAY -- A fatal two-vehicle crash has closed Highway 102.
The collision, which involved a transport and a passenger vehicle, happened just after noon on Tuesday where the highway meets Hill Road.
OPP Const. Diana Cole confirmed the driver of the passenger vehicle, who was the lone occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the transport was not injured, Cole added.
Cole said the transport was eastbound on the highway and the passenger vehicle was turning from Hill Road to travel east on the highway.
The identity of the victim is not being released, pending notification of next of kin.
The OPP's technical collision investigators attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Highway 102 is closed between Mapleward Road and Sistonen's Corner. Cole said the closure will likely last several hours.
