MISHKEEGOGAMANG, Ont. - A fatal residential fire is under investigation in the community about 315 kilometres northwest of Thunder Bay.
The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service issued a media release Friday afternoon, announcing the OPP identification unit and Ontario Fire Marshal have been called in to investigate a fire that was reported at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
NAPS confirmed human remains have been discovered at the scene and a post-mortem examination will take place in Toronto, though the date has not been released.
Foul play is not suspected.
