One person has been confirmed dead following a major accident Wednesday morning on the highway near Ignace.
The crash involved a transport and a pickup truck at about 11 a.m. The driver of the pickup died at the scene.
The two occupants of the transport were sent to hospital in Dryden and have since been released.
The OPP shut down Highway 17 west of Ignace while they conduct their investigation.
