Federal inmate sought by police

Ontario Provincial Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Ronald Countryman, who may be travelling west through the region.

BROCKVILLE, Ont. - A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant as a result of his breach of parole may be heading west through the region and police are asking for any information from the public that may lead to his capture.  

According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad is seeking 57-year-old Ronald Countryman, who is serving a 10-year and two month sentence for charges of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified, impaired driving, and possession of stolen property. He also has five previous federal sentences.

Last seen in the Sault Ste. Marie area, Countryman is known to frequent shelters and food banks. Police said he may be travelling west to avoid capture with Winnipeg as a possible destination.

Countryman is described as a Caucasian male, standing five foot, eight inches tall, weighing approximately 198 pounds with a shaved head and hazel eyes.
