A joint review panel has been established for a proposed mine in the Marathon area.
The federal and provincial environment ministers announced Tuesday the formation of a three-member review panel for the environmental assessment of the Marathon Platinum Group Metals and Copper Mine Project.
This is the first time Ontario has formed a joint review panel with the federal government.
Stillwater Canada is looking to create an open pit mine and mill about 10 kilometres north of Marathon.
The panel will assess the possible impacts and benefits of the project.
