Fifteen new cases of COVID-19 announced

Twelve of the cases were reported at Southbridge Roseview nursing home.

THUNDER BAY – Southbridge Roseview nursing home has been named as the source of 12 of the 15 new cases of COVID-19 reported on Friday by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

One of the cases is considered related to travel and the person resides in an unnamed district community. Another case is considered a close contact case, while the final case’s exposure category is pending.

There are 112 active cases, according to the health unit’s website.

There have been 358 COVID-19 cases in the district, with 242 considered resolved. Five people have died, including three at Southbridge Roseview, where there are currently 71 active cases. 

Five of the cases are in hospital, with one person in the intensive care unit.
