THUNDER BAY – The Kam River Fighting Walleye continue to build the team’s inaugural roster.

The first-year Superior International Junior Hockey League squad on Thursday announced a new addition, signing versatile foward/defenceman Trent Keewatin out of Martensville, Sask.

Keewatin had three points and 43 penalty minutes last season in 21 games split between the Hinton Timberwolves and the Wichita Jr. Thunder.

It’s a great addition, said Walleye GM Kevin McCallum.

“Trent brings size, toughness and versatility to the team. We expect him to be a solid player for us,” McCaullum said.

Coach Matt Valley is equally excited about bringing the burly 6-foot-1, 205-pounder aboard.

“I am excited to get Trent to Kam River and get him on the ice, he will bring a larger than life presence and physical presence to the club,” Valley said.
