Fighting Walleye down Dryden for fourth straight win

FORT FRANCES, Ont. -- Keaton Mercredi scored twice and added an assist, leading the Kam River Fighting Walleye to their fourth straight triumph.

The Fighting Walleye scored the game's first three goals and went on to down the host Dryden Ice Dogs 6-4 on Saturday night, improving to 6-2-1.

Carson Gorst, Colton Chrysler, Tyler Ralph and Ethan Lang also had goals for the visiting side. Ian Kimble, Tyler Earf, Maxime Collette and Brayd Prattinger scored for Dryden.

Austin Madge made 31 saves to earn the win for the Fighting Walleye. Ryley Gross and Evan Van Laeken split the goaltending duties for Dryden, each giving up three goals.

Fort Frances 3, Thunder Bay 0: Mason Mayer stopped 30 shots to blank the top-ranked North Stars (8-3-0). Ty Milgate, Manrico Pecchia and Jake Dittaro had the goals for the Lakers (2-7-0)
