OLIVER PAIPOONGE -- The Kam River Fighting Walleye are headed back to the Superior International Junior Hockey League championship.
Kobe Braham and Anthony Oviedo each scored twice on Saturday night, leading the Fighting Walleye to 4-1, series-clinching win over the Wisconsin Lumberjacks.
Kam River, who won the series 4-1, will await the winner of the other SIJHL semifinal between the Thunder Bay North Stars and Dryden Ice Dogs.
Dryden on Saturday took a stranglehold on the series, claiming a 5-4 win at Fort William Gardens to take a 3-1 lead.
Landon Stromme, Max Roby and Tyler Earl staked the Ice Dogs to a 3-0 lead, scoring goals three-and-a-half minutes apart, after the two teams played a scoreless first.
The third goal chased Thunder Bay starter Conner Lemieux, who gave up three goals on 20 shots.
The North Stars scored two quick ones, Easton Glousher and Nikolas Campbell with the tallies, to cut th lead to 3-2 at 9:09 of the middle stanza, but Dryden added two more before the period came to a close to take a 5-2 advantage into the third.
Easton Debray and Brycen Benfield were the goal scorers.
The Stars fought back with a pair in the second, Nikolas Campbell making it 5-3 at 15:22 and Colby Feist beating Eric Clark in the final minute of regulation.
Dryden can take the series at home on Monday night. Game 6, if necessary, goes Tuesday night at Fort William Gardens.
