THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Fire Rescue continues to investigate a fire that occurred on the weekend at Centennial Square.

Firefighters responding to the initial alarm Saturday night arrived to find flames showing on the rear wall of the strip mall.

They called additional units to the scene but were able to quickly apply water to the exterior and bring the fire under control before there was any further damage.

The building was searched to ensure all occupants got out safely.

Crews were on the scene for several hours to ensure the flames had not spread anywhere else.

Deputy Fire Chief Martin Hynna said Monday morning that the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
