THUNDER BAY — A two-alarm fire in a south-side Thunder Bay apartment building Wednesday morning left one person suffering from smoke inhalation.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue dispatched a total of eight units, including six pumpers and a ladder truck.
Numerous calls had been made to 911 reporting smoke and flames showing in the three-storey building.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from a unit on the main floor.
They entered through a sliding door and quickly knocked down a fire that was burning some contents of the apartment.
It was brought under control before it could get into the actual structure and spread to other units.
Paramedics treated a tenant on the scene for smoke inhalation.
Thunder Bay Police have taken control of the apartment while the fire cause is investigated.
