FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION – An afternoon blaze has caused significant damage to a Mission Road home.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters responded to the incident on the 500 block of Mission Road at about 3:30 p.m. after receiving multiple emergency calls, fire officials said in a news release..
Responding firefighters found the home with heavy smoke and flames and initiated an exterior attack, with additional crews conducting an interior search of the home.
Nobody was at home at the time, fire officials said, adding that the blaze was quickly brought under control but caused extensive damage.
The scene has been left in the control of the Anishinabek Police Service to complete an investigation.
