Fire causes major damage to Arthur Street West businesses

Premier Used Truck Parts and Monteith Heavy Equipment Rental located on site of Tuesday night fire.

THUNDER BAY – A massive fire has caused heavy damage to a pair of Arthur Street West businesses.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews were on hand Tuesday night battling a blaze that lit the night sky at Premier Used Truck Parts and Monteith Heavy Equipment Rental.

The fire broke out at about 8 p.m. A total of seven pumpers and two aerial ladders, a water tanker and a command vehicle, along with 30 firefighters, responded to the call. 

There’s were no injuries in the fire.

Crews remained on scene overnight dousing hot spots and police opened Arthur Street West at 6 a.m., having closed it to allow fire crews to fight the fire. 

The fire is under investigation.
