THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue lived up their name on Thursday.

The emergency service was called to Marina Park just after 11 a.m. after receiving a distress call from the operators of a 23-foot bayliner that had lost power.

Harbour Rescue 1 was launched from the park and located the disabled boat just outside the breakwall, quickly determining the five people on board were not in any danger.

After several attempts to restore power to the vessel, fire crews attached a tow line and brought the boat to shore, after the boat began drifting toward the breakwall rocks.

No damage to the boat was sustained.
