THUNDER BAY -- A structural fire heavily damaged the main floor of a North Syndicate Avenue home, but firefighters were able to knock it down before it full consumed the structure.
In a release issued on Tuesday morning, a Thunder Bay Fire Rescue spokesman said the report of a fire was called in at about 4:30 a.m.
Residents in the home’s basement apartment were alerted by a smoke detector and got out safely. No one was home in the main floor apartment.
The home suffered smoke damage throughout.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
