Fire damages south side garage

THUNDER BAY -- A south side garage suffered heavy damage after a fire broke out early Monday morning.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescues crews were called to a home in the Minto Place area around 12 a.m. where a garage was engulfed in flames and smoke filled the sky above.

According to a release, the fire was extinguished quickly, but the garage suffered heavy damage. The siding of an adjacent shed was damaged due to radiant heat.

No injuries were reported and no firefighters were injured.

Fire officials say the cause of the fire is not considered suspicious.
