DRYDEN, Ont. -- A Wednesday evening fire left a garage and two vehicles severely damaged.

Dryden Fire Service was called to a home on Wilde Street in Dryden around 1:10 a.m. after a garage fire broke out and began threatening the nearby single family home.

Firefighters arrived to find the garage fully engulfed in flames.

All occupants were out of the nearby house by the time fire arrived and police were in the process of notifying neighbours of the fire.

According to a release, fire crews cooled the exposed properties with two handlines and the fire was under control in 18 minutes.

“We call this a blitz attack on an aggressive fire, a few more minutes and we would have had a house fire,” said Dryden Fire Service chief Ryan Murrell.

This is an ongoing investigation.
