THUNDER BAY -- A fire on the south side caused a significant amount of damage to an equipment garage early Friday morning.
Firefighters say damage was extensive in a fire which destroyed a large metal equipment garage on West Arthur Street at about 5 a.m.
The garage housed several large pieces of industrial equipment, and had collapsed onto the machinery and tractors inside.
The 13 firefighters were on scene to battle the fire, but had a challenge dealing with the heat, and also some of the contents that were in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
