Firefighters believe a plumbing torch may have led to a small fire in an area Church Tuesday.
Lappe Fire and Rescue responded to a fire call at the Lappe Lutheran Church at about 11:30 a.m. Bill Pottuff, fire chief with Lappe Fire and Rescue, said firefighters saw smoke as they arrived on scene.
"According to the contractor there has been some work on the crawl space," Pottuff said. "The fire was extinguished prior to our arrival."
Pottuff said a pluming torch might have been the cause, but added that he couldn’t be certain.
The investigation is on going.
