THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews spent Monday morning putting out a tire fire at a Maureen Street tire recycler.

Thick black smoke could be seen billowing from the fire, which broke out in a trailer unit located on the property.

Firefighters quickly got the fire under control and were removing tires from the structure and dousing any remaining hot spots.

There is no word on the cause of the fire.
