THUNDER BAY – A fire deemed accidental in nature was quickly brought under control and extinguished at a Russell Street business.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, in a release, said they received a call for an automatic alarm at about 8:40 p.m. on Sunday night, and arrived to find heavy smoke in one of three storefronts in the complex.

A second alarm was called, and firefighters entered the building, found the fire and put it out.

A thorough search of the building was conducted and no people or pets were located inside.

The building was cleared of smoke and later turned back over to the owner.

TBFR said the fire is not suspicious in nature.
