THUNDER BAY -- A partially boarded up house on Bethune Street suffered substantial damage in an afternoon fire on Thursday afternoon.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, in a release, said they were called to a home on the 100 block of the south-side home to find heavy smoke pouring from the three-storey residence.

Firefighters were delayed by the boards trying to enter the structure and attack the fire.

All occupants were outside the building by the time crews arrived and there were no injuries.
