Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service officers on the Mishkeegogamang First Nation have been busy dealing with firearm offences.
The most recent incident occurred Thursday when police received reports that two men with weapons were in the area of the community’s school. Investigation showed the pair had been wandering in and out of the school building while armed with guns before fleeing into the bush.
A 19-year-old man and a youth were later arrested and were found in possession of pellet guns.
They're both facing a number of firearms related charges.
A few days before that, a complaint was received over an armed man who had threatened to shoot another individual before fleeing in a vehicle.
A youth armed with a shotgun was later arrested.
Along with firearms and threat charges, that suspect also faces a count of theft over $5,000.
