THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters were kept busy on Thursday night thanks to a pair of fires involving sheds and garages in the Intercity area.

According to a release issued on Friday morning, fire crews arrived at the scene to find two sheds engulfed in flames, with nearby objects melting because of the intense heat.

While fighting the shed fires, a report was received detailing a nearby large garage that had also been engulfed in flames.

Firefighters took swift action and contained the garage fire, and kept it from reaching nearby homes.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue has not issued a cause for any of the fires.

Seven pumper trucks, an aerial ladder and one command unit, were deployed to bring the fires under control.

The incidents took place just before midnight on Thursday.

There is no indication from TBFR if the fires are suspicious or not.
