THUNDER BAY – Strong winds and heavy rain kept emergency services busy on Monday night.
According to a media release, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to higher than average call volume Monday night because of the weather.
Officials say many calls were for Hydro wires down and trees on the power lines, which resulted in power outages for various parts of the city.
Residents were encouraged to stay away from downed power lines until Hydro could arrive on scene and correct the damage.
Firefighters also responded to fire alarms, motor vehicle collisions, carbon monoxide alarms and medical calls throughout the storm.
No major injuries were reported.
