THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Firefighters took on a little different role Wednesday as they served customers at a city restaurant in support of Toys for Tots.
This is the fifth annual year for Firefighters to serve tables in support of Toys for Tots.
All the money donated goes towards helping people in need in the community.
Firefighter Jon Cuthbertson said the money gets spent to purchase toys and help make everyone’s Christmas a little bit better.
He added Boston Pizza is one of the major contributors to their success.
“Firefighters can be tipped much like a regular server and those tips go to Toys for Tots and in addition to that Boston Pizza donates ten per cent of all sales,” Cuthbertson said.
“We never set a target goal for the amount that we want to raise all we want to do is whatever the community can support and every year we exceed any of our expectations and it’s growing and growing in popularity.”
Cuthbertson said each year their campaign has grown more popular and that everyone looks forward to helping out Toys for Tots.
