THUNDER BAY - Thunder Bay Police are looking for a suspect responsible for setting a pair of fires in Sears that forced the evacuation of the store Saturday afternoon.
According to a Thunder Bay Police Service media release, a young male entered the store and set fire to throw pillows on the second floor and shirts hanging on racks on the first floor. It only took the young male three minutes to set the fires and he exited through the mall doors.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a call of a possible structural fire at Sears in the Intercity Shopping Centre shortly before 2 p.m. Upon arrival, crews discovered smoke from two small fires, one on the main level and one on the second level.
According to Thunder Bay Fire Rescue platoon chief, Kelly Patterson, the fires were very minor in nature and caused little damage and there were no reports of injuries.
Police say the damage could have been much more extensive if it were not for fast acting customers who extinguished the fires.

Fire crews remained on the scene to ventilate the building and Sears remains closed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
