THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay residents will be treated Wednesday night to a fireworks display on the lakeshore.
According to Environment Canada's forecast, the sky will be clear when the City of Thunder Bay wraps up this season's Live on the Waterfront concert series with pyrotechnics.
The display will begin shortly after the final performance of the evening.
Live entertainment will start at 7 p.m. on Aug. 31, which is an hour later than usual, in order to accommodate the fireworks.
Local pop/rock cover band EDLA will kick things off, followed by country singer Tim Albertson at 8 p.m., and alt-pop headliner Fake Shark at 9 p.m.
"It's been great seeing the community come together to support live music as we re-introduced Live on the Waterfront this year," says Callie Hemsworth, acting cultural development & events supervisor for the city.
"We want to thank all the staff, volunteers, performers, partners and sponsors for their time and dedication in making these events successful."
Parking in Marina Park will be limited throughout the day Wednesday, and there will be no general public parking on site after 7 p.m.
Limited accessible parking will be available inside the park, but must be reserved by calling 684-3844.
