A class lawsuit against the federal government regarding the ‘60s Scoop is moving ahead.
Beaverhouse First Nations Chief Marcia Brown Martel is the lead plaintiff in the class-action suit that received certification Tuesday morning.
It is alleged that an estimated 16,000 Aboriginal children lost their cultural identity when they were removed from their homes and placed in other communities across Canada between 1965 and 1985.
