THUNDER BAY— The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported five new confirmed COVID-19 cases Wednesday, once again resulting in a slight increase in the active caseload.
Among the new cases, four resulted from close contact with infected individuals, while the exposure source for one remained under investigation.
Three of the cases are in First Nation communities, one is in a district community, and one is in the City of Thunder Bay or immediate surrounding townships.
With three previous cases having been resolved since Tuesday, the active case count climbed to 35.
The number of district residents in hospital with COVID-19 remained steady at six, including three in intensive care.
