THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit on Monday reported five new COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay area.
Two of the cases are at Southbridge Roseview long-term care.
Two others are the result of close contact elsewhere in the community, and one of the cases has no known exposure.
The TBDHU also reported 21 previously-diagnosed cases have now been resolved.
The total number of reported active cases in the city and district fell from 103 on Sunday to 89 on Monday.
This is the first day since December 3 that the figure has been below 100.
No individuals are currently in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19.
So far during the pandemic, 15 people have died, including 13 residents of Southbridge Roseview.
There have been 508 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the TBDHU's coverage area to date.
