UPDATE: Flu outbreak spreads at Roseview Manor

THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay District Health Unit says an outbreak of the flu at the Roseview Manor long-term-care facility on Shuniah Street is still spreading.

The TBDHU and Roseview Manor on Monday issued a news release stating that the declaration of an outbreak of Influenza A has been extended to include the entire second floor of the building (Primrose and Celeste home care areas).

All admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities have been cancelled until further notice. Visitors are restricted to family members and caregivers only.

An outbreak of Influenza A was also declared Monday in the 2 South unit at St. Joseph's Hospital, while an outbreak on 3 North was simultaneously declared over.

In addition, the TBDHU declared an end to an Influenza A outbreak affecting units on the fifth floor of Hogarth Riverview Manor on Lillie Street, and to an outbreak at Pinewood court on Walsh street.

An outbreak on 2 North at Hogarth Riverview remains in effect.
