UPDATED Flu outbreaks spread at St. Joe's and Roseview Manor

THUNDER BAY -- A flu outbreak on part of one floor at St. Joseph's Hospital has spread to the rest of the floor.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has extended its flu outbreak declaration in the Medically Complex Services Unit (2 South) to include the Medically Complex Services Unit (2 North).

The health unit on Wednesday also extended a previously-declared outbreak in part of Roseview Manor on Shuniah Street to the entire building.

Later in the day, it announced a new outbreak of respiratory illness on 6 North at Hogarth Riverview Manor, where an outbreak of Influenza A also remained in effect on 2 North.

All admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities in the affected locations have been cancelled until further notice.

Visitation is restricted to family members and caregivers only.
