THUNDER BAY — Area residents planning to get vaccinated against the flu can take advantage of other options in spite of the suspension of plans for community clinics by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

Some Thunder Bay pharmacies are now offering flu shots to their customers.

Local doctors will also administer flu shots to their patients.

Starting Tuesday, Superior North EMS paramedics will roll out their public immunization clinics.

The first one is scheduled for Tuesday, October 23 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the lobby of the EMS headquarters on Junot Avenue.

Paramedics will also administer flu shots this season to city staff and to their families.

The TBDHU's own flu clinics are on hold because of the strike by public health nurses which started Tuesday.
