THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Fire Rescue had a busy Friday afternoon, responding to a call that a forklift had fallen off a passing transport at the intersection of Memorial Avenue and the Harbour Expressway.

Upon arrival at the scene just after 3 p.m. they discovered a pallet laden with heavy equipment had also fallen off the truck after a load shifted, taking the rear doors off the back of the transport as well.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, which did impede traffic on the final Friday afternoon before Christmas.

Firefighters also worked to secure a propane tank that was attached to the fallen forklift.

Police were on scene and investigating. There is no word of any charges at this time.
