OPP News Release

(KENORA, ON) – As a result of an ongoing investigation, on November 26, 2015, members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Northwest Region Crime Unit have charged 56-year old Eli MANDAMIN of Shoal Lake First Nation with two sexual related offences contrary to the 1977 Criminal Code:

• Rape, contrary to Section 143 CC
• Sexual Intercourse with a female between 14 and 16, contrary to Section 146.2 CC.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred between 1975-1977 when the accused was a First Nation Constable for the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the community of Iskatewizaagegan (Shoal Lake #39).

The accused was arrested and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Kenora  on December 17, 2015.
