Former Uncle Frank’s re-opening with Cajun twist

One of Thunder Bay's oldest licensed restaurants is being brought back to life with a new look and a new name.

Uncle Frank's Supper Club on Highway 61 is being transformed into BoDaddy's Canajun Bar and Grill, a restaurant featuring a Bayou theme straight out of Louisiana.

Uncle Franks closed its doors in 2005 after more than 50 years in business. Sioux Lookout businessman Dick Davidson bought the property several years ago and has been gradually renovating the 200-seat bar and restaurant.

He said BoDaddy's is a concept never seen before in Thunder Bay, which he thinks will be well-received by city residents and tourists alike.

Davidson added that he also plans to have Mardi Gras-style live entertainment and a dance floor, along with a take-out area connected to the restaurant. Work crews have been building a covered patio around the front of the restaurant, and the new name will go up on the classic neon sign out front.

Davidson expects to have BoDaddy's up and running sometime in the spring, with about 20 employees working at the establishment.
