Operations at Abitibi Bowater's Fort Frances Mill are expected to return to normal Friday night.
The shutdown came on Tuesday when staff discovered the mill exceeded its biochemical oxygen demand limits. It is a problem company officials said at the time was probably caused by cold weather.
Company spokesperson Jean Philippe Cote said they now believe they have found a solution that will allow them to resume production.
The mill employs about 560 workers.
