A two-year -old-child returned home after reportedly missing for a few hours.
Fort Frances Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police received a call from a local man saying he found a child standing alone outside his residence about 4 a.m. on Thursday. Police say the man had his window open while sleeping and thought he heard a cat outside. When the man looked, he saw a young child but no adults around.
The man contacted police. A short time later, the parents reported their child missing. Police say the child walked out of the family home while the parents were sleeping. Police returned the child to the parents and said they were very relieved.
Police want to thank the neighbours in the area who spoke to the officers early in the morning.
