THUNDER BAY – An epic battle is expected this weekend at Fort William Historical Park.

Fort Under Siege, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, will recreated the dramatic confrontation between the North West Company of Montreal and England’s Hudson’s Bay Company in their struggle to dominate the North American fur trade.

The two-day event will include musket and cannon battle demonstrations and plenty of drama, including the arrival of Lord Selkirk, heated debates and even an assassination attempt.

Visitors can mingle with the soldiers, paddle a historic canoe or test their aim in both axe throwing and musket firing.

Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, $10 for youth aged six to 12 and free for children under five.

RVs and tents are welcome at the park’s campground.
