The harvest teaches children about preparing wild rice and animal hides, as well as learning how to make bannock. There was also some craft weaving, along with Metis jigging and mocassin making. Event organizer Yvonne Farquar said it's important to pass along the teachings to younger generations.

The event is scheduled to wrap up Thursday afternoon.
