THUNDER BAY — A late-night fireworks display headlines activities planned for New Year's Eve at Fort William Historical Park.

The park is hosting what it bills as a Family Frolic to welcome 2019, with the fireworks ringing in the New Year just before midnight.

Adult admission is $10, while the fee is $8 for seniors 60 or over, children ages 6 to 12, and students. Children 5 and under get in free.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the event runs until midnight.

There are plenty of activities—both indoor and outdoor—preceding a choreographed fireworks display in the main square, including live entertainment, contests, crafts, snowshoeing, skating and games, among others.

There is no shuttle service to the fort but Thunder Bay Transit has regular scheduled service.

Officials at the park say a full menu will be offered in the park's cantine, but outside food and beverages are not allowed.
