Foul play not suspected in death of Aroland man

OPP release new information regarding the death of an Aroland First Nation man.

AROLAND FIRST NATION, Ont. – The OPP have released new information regarding the death of an Aroland First Nation man.

On Friday, officers from the Greenstone detachment were called to a residence in Aroland First Nation after receiving reports of a possible injured male.

Byron Meshake, 30-years-old of Aroland First Nation was transported by ambulance for medical treatment but was later pronounced dead.

OP have charged a 26-year-old of Aroland First Nation with assault with a weapon.

A post mortem examination was held on Tuesday in Toronto and as a result, foul play is not suspected in Meshake’s death.

The investigation is ongoing and further details will be provided as they become available.
