Four people are facing charges following the theft of a pickup truck early Monday morning.
The truck was taken from a Melbourne Road home around 3:30 a.m. and was immediately reported to police. Officers managed to spot the vehicle near East Avenue and Perth Crescent about two hours later.
The 18-year-old man who was behind the wheel was immediately taken into custody, but three other occupants fled.
Another 18-year-old male suspect was located in a Wentworth Crescent yard, and was found there with help from the force’s K-9 unit.
Two youths were later arrested at a Picton Avenue home.
The four are also believed to be responsible for several vehicle break-ins overnight in the Hilldale Road and Melbourne Road area.
Anyone who has a vehicle that has been broken into is asked to contact police.
