DRYDEN, Ont. -- Dryden Police have identified four youth in connection with a recent string of vehicle break-ins.
Two of the four youth were arrested for tresspassing after attempting to flee from police on Monday morning. A subsequent investigation led to the discovery of multiple stolen items, and the arrest of two additional youth responsible for vehicle thefts dating back to the spring of 2019.
The underage suspects cannot be identified under Youth Criminal Justice Act.
According to a release issued by Dryden Police, on Monday at approximately 3:30 a.m., two youths attempted to flee from police on Casimir Avenue, but were apprehended after a short foot chase.
They were arrested for the offence of trespass by night.
Upon searching the individuals, police located a number of stolen items, leading to the arrest of two additional youth.
The items recovered included numerous brand-name prescription glasses and sunglasses, a cell phone, hand-held radios, pocket knives and small tools, binoculars, and numerous chargers and cords for various devices.
The individuals have been referred to the Youth Criminal Justice Program for theft under $5,000.
The Dryden Police Service is asking anyone who may have been a victim of theft from their vehicles, whether is it was reported or not, to come forward to help identify the recovered property.
