THUNDER BAY — Additional charges have been laid against four people charged in the death of a Thunder Bay man in October 2021.

The body of 33-year-old Jordan Lapointe was found after an explosion and fire at a residence in the 100 block of Frederica Street East.

Thunder Bay police subsequently charged four men with first degree murder, and a fifth person with arson.

The individuals accused of homicide are now also charged with aggravated sexual assault in connection with the incident.

They include two residents of Thunder Bay  and two people from the Ottawa area.

Lapointe's father issued an emotional statement shortly after his son's death, saying he had faced challenges in life but was determined to go forward before "everything was taken from him, his son and his entire family."
