Four new COVID-19 cases announced

Nine more cases have come off the books, leaving the district with 134 active cases, the lowest number since Jan. 21.

THUNDER BAY -- There are four new COVID-19 cases in Thunder Bay. 

The cases increase the total in the region to 1,017 since the pandemic arrived in the region last March. One of the cases is associated with an outbreak at the Thunder Bay District Jail, with the exposure category in two others considered to be pending and the fourth to be unknown. 

All four are considered to reside in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas. 

There have now been 89 confirmed cases at the jail since Jan. 19. 

The health unit says there are 134 known active cases in the District of Thunder Bay, the fewest number of active cases since Jan. 21, when there were also 134 cases.
