Four new COVID-19 cases in NWHU

Three cases in Northwestern Health Unit's Kenora region, one in Dryden/Red Lake.

KENORA – The Northwestern Health Unit reported four new cases of COVID-19 Friday, with the Kenora region seeing the most infections.

Friday’s cases included three in the Kenora region, and one in the Dryden/Red Lake region. Both are large areas containing more than a dozen communities (a full list is available online).

There were 23 active cases of COVID-19 across the Northwestern Health Unit’s four regions as of Friday morning, prior to that day’s case announcement. That included nine in Kenora, eight in Dryden/Red Lake, four in Sioux Lookout, and two in Rainy River.  

There were no NWHU patients in hospital as of Friday.

The health unit reported 14 positive results on 2,326 tests conducted for the week of Jan. 18 to 24, a positivity rate of around 0.6 per cent.
