THUNDER BAY — The active COVID-19 caseload in the Thunder Bay district has climbed to its highest level since mid-June.
The district health unit on Wednesday morning reported four new cases in the previous 24 hours.
None of the previously-diagnosed cases was resolved since Tuesday, so the active case count reached 15.
The last time the count was higher than this was on June 19, when it was 23.
The TBDHU said one of the new cases involves travel outside Northwestern Ontario, one is the result of close contact, and two remain under investigation.
No district residents are currently receiving treatment for COVID-19 in hospital.
In the service area of the Northwestern Health Unit, based in Kenora, there are eight active cases at present.
