THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit says there are four new COVID-19 cases in its catchment area.

It brings the total number of cases in the district to 114, and the total number of active cases to five. A total of 108 of the cases are considered resolved, with one death resulting from the virus.

One of the cases is listed as travel-related, with another considered a close contact case. The two other exposure categories are listed as pending.

All four are listed as residing in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas and all are listed as being in self-isolation.

It’s the largest single-day increase since April.

The health unit on Thursday announced its 110th case, a female in her 30s who caught it through travel.

The health unit no longer provides gender or age information, although that information is posted to the provincial COVID-19 database.
